To help its customers streamline their product development and quality control processes, Creaform released VX elements 10. According to the company, the new software range sets new standards in measurement technology, inspection and reverse engineering.
Portable 3D measurement system provider Creaform announced the launch of VX Elements 10 – now with a new cloud licensing system, new 3D Mesh and Entity Edition features, multiple CAD imports and Metra Scan-R 3D scanner compatibility with collaborative robots (kobots).
VX elements, now an integrated 3D metrology software platform that includes multiple acquisition and application modules – VX scan, VX probe, VX shot, VX model, VX track, VX inspect, VX scan-R – dates back to 2005 with version 1.0 of VXscan, the first software module developed by Creaform.
A new cloud licensing system has been implemented to facilitate the sharing of licenses between users of a specific company. It’s now easier to maximize software investments by improving collaboration between team members, making collaborative projects easier and faster.
The updated VX scan engine reveals improvements to the merge scan feature: better processing power, new targeting, and the ability to keep the original data.
The VX model scan-to-CAD software module now has a flexible object editing tool, a new cross-section function (resize cutting plans, cross-section distance and angle with “any” objects).
End users can now import and use multiple CAD models in VX inspect for additional flexibility. This in turn makes it easier to work with symmetrical objects and saves time when editing assembly parts.
VX scan-R is part of Creaform’s offering that uses collaborative robots (cobots) to streamline the use of scan cells and leverage the best scanning technology using offline programming software.
