Hollywood stars are not immune to the difficulties that come with a divorce.
Kanye West is going through a difficult public divorce with Kim Kardashian and Kelly Clarkson admits it’s not easy. But divorce isn’t always a negative experience for the stars.
Kristin Cavallari says her divorce from Jay Cutler is the best thing she’s ever done, and Jennifer Meyer called her divorce from Tobey Maguire “the best experience of my life.”
Here’s a snapshot of what some celebrities have said about the divorce.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have been fighting their divorce since the Keeping up with the Kardashians star first filed in February 2021.
West appeared at the BET Awards ceremony on June 26 and mentioned Kardashian while presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Sean “Diddy” Combs.
“You know, I took a little break. I said, ‘I just want to declare myself legally dead for a year,'” West said. “I just want to be off the grid.
“I go to (Combs) for advice to this day. He inspires so many of my decisions, so many of my life decisions. My wife’s choices. Thanks for that Puff.”
In March, a judge ruled that Kardashian was legally single, though the divorce was pending. She has since moved on and is dating Pete Davidson.
After two failed marriages, Faris sees herself as nothing less than a “divorce veteran.”
“I’m like a divorce veteran because I’ve been divorced twice,” she told Chelsea Handler on the Dear Chelsea podcast. “It hit hard the first time.”

Faris was married to her Lovers Lane co-star Ben Indra from 2004 to 2008. Faris and Chris Pratt starred in Take Me Home Tonight and were married from 2009 to 2018.
“I became someone I didn’t recognize. I’ve always been the kind of person who had their fridge stocked. And I’ve hosted a lot of dinners,” Faris said. “That was back when I had friends.”
Describing her first divorce, the “Mom” alum said she feels alone because she has “nobody to text or call” and only has “beer and mustard in the fridge” because she was going out all the time.
“I was afraid I wasn’t a good lover,” she shared with Handler. “Especially when I was younger, I was so insecure about my body. I didn’t want anyone to see him. But I would dance on the edges. I really wanted to be wanted.”

As for her divorce from Pratt, she’s been open about how proud the culprit was. During a March 2021 episode of her Anna Faris Is Unqualified podcast, she said the pair didn’t do a great job of “removing the competitiveness.”
“Any indication of competitiveness and comparison, I haven’t handled that very well, I don’t think so – and I hope I’ve grown from that,” she admitted. Pratt and Faris share a nine-year-old son, Jack.
In 2021, Faris took another chance at marriage and eloped with cinematographer Michael Barrett.
Braunwyn Windham Burke
Windham-Burke and her husband Sean Burke decided not to take the traditional route in their split.
The former Real Housewives of Orange County star announced her split from her husband in the summer of 2021. The couple has no plans for a formal divorce. Instead, they prioritize raising their seven children together.
“Sean and I are friends. We’re family and we’re parents,” she told Fox News Digital. “We’ll find out as we go. You know, there aren’t many couples that I’ve seen before, so let’s try to figure it out somehow. Right now we’re really just focusing on maintaining as much stability as possible for the kids.”
Windham-Burke has reached her own relationship milestone. She and girlfriend Victoria Brito now live together part-time on the east coast.
The RHOC star revealed to Fox News Digital that she splits her time between New York, where she lives with Brito, and Orange County, where much of her family still lives.

“So we do something like nesting, where we take turns coming in and out of the house,” she said of herself and Burke. “I was sick. He was actually here to help me.
“So, you know, we’re really friends, we’re really family and we’re just trying to do what’s best. I haven’t been able to look after the children for the past few days. I didn’t want to make her sick. So you know he’s here. It’s just – it works for us.”
Almost six years after Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer split, Meyer shared a rare glimpse into their divorce. Meyer only had positive things to say about their split.
“Having this beautiful breakup has been the most beautiful experience of my life,” Meyer said on The World’s First Podcast.

“I can’t even explain it. I would literally do anything in the world for Tobey. He’s my brother. I love him more than anything and we have the most beautiful family.”
The couple first separated in 2016, and Meyer filed for divorce in October 2020. During their initial split, the duo did not have a strong relationship.
“The work is a motherf—–. i won’t lie And we’ve done a lot of work to stay on track and stay one family,” Meyer said on the podcast episode released June 23. “It was a choice and it was trusting that the universe was behind us.
Meyer and Maguire share two children: Ruby, 15, and Otis, 13.
“We talk about our significant others and, ‘Hey, do you have the kids? I’m going away for the weekend, do you know what I mean?” said Meier. “Well, it’s like anything, or I’m like, ‘Hey, I’m having a rough day,’ or ‘Hey, you did that, it really messed me up.’
“We’re capable of getting through this, but it all comes down to the universe having your back if you stay the course.”
Kelly Clarkson said her divorce from Brandon Blackstock wasn’t easy.
“Everyone knows the big divorce I went through and it was like two years and it wasn’t easy with kids,” Clarkson told The Chart Show With Brooke Reese.”
Clarkson, who legally changed her name to Kelly Brianne in March, filed for divorce in June 2020, citing “irreconcilable differences” after about seven years of marriage. The couple have two children together: daughter River, 7, and son Remington, 5.

According to court documents, Clarkson agreed to pay Blackstock spousal support totaling $115,000 per month through January 31, 2024, but those payments would end should Blackstock remarry before that date or if either party before dies.
The talk show host also has to pay her ex $45,601 a month in child support. Both spousal and child support payments were scheduled to begin on February 1, 2022.
Kristin Cavallari sees her divorce from Jay Cutler as a positive decision.
“The scariest thing I’ve ever done was get divorced. But it was the best thing I’ve ever done, and that really kickstarted my journey of self-love and realizing who I am now,” Cavallari said on The School of Greatness podcast.

The couple decided to separate in April 2020 after almost seven years of marriage.
“We have nothing but love and respect for each other and are deeply grateful for the years together, the memories made and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation where two people grow apart,” the couple said in a joint Instagram statement at the time.
The television personality and Cutler share three children – Camden, 9; Jaxon, 7; and Saylor, 5, who she credits with heavily influencing her post-divorce prospects.
“My kids inspired me to become the best version of myself,” she said. “I can only be as good to my children as I am to myself. When I am empty, I have nothing to give them. Being able to be energetic and loving myself so I can love my kids — and support and encourage them — that’s the most important thing.”
