One of the most important parts of any blockbuster film is its musical score and the songs that make up its soundtrack, which is no exception for the next Marvel Studios film – Thor: Love and Thunder. Scored by longtime Marvel collaborator Michael Giacchino, and thanks to the film’s promotional tour, fans know this soundtrack will offer another fun round of hits.
Director Taika Waititi continued his tenure at Marvel Thor: Ragnarok through the use of Led Zeppelin’s legendary “Immigrant Song”, which was heard both in the film’s advertising campaign and twice during the film itself. This became another fun needle drop moment within the MCU in 2017, and Waititi is clearly trying to continue that theme with Chris Hemsworth’s fourth solo Thor film.
It all started with the first trailer for love and thunder The 1987 Guns N’ Roses song “Sweet Child O’ Mine” has fans jamming to ’80s rock hits as Thor unleashes another round of thunder. Thor 4 Songs brings the musical thunder
Though the MCU has some iconic scores from composers like Alan Silvestri and Michael Giacchino, almost every outing uses plenty of memorable needle drops to propel their stories. Alone in phase 4 Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings doing everything from “A Whole New World” to “Hotel California”. eternal with songs like Pink Floyd’s “Time” and Lizzo’s “Juice” spanning generations.
love and thunder now continues the same vibes that fans have been hearing Thor: Ragnarok, with a third of those songs coming exclusively from Guns N’ Roses. However, some of the other inclusions on this list raise some interesting questions.
Will anyone in this storyline ever move their head to a 2001 Mary J. Blige R&B? And is one of the main characters used in an Old Spice commercial somehow?!
Regardless of the details, this soundtrack only hints at how much fun the ride will be Thor: Love and Thunder. Jamming too much classic rock while also touching on the more modern 21st century era sure means there will be some entertaining and unpredictable moments when these songs start playing.
Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on July 8th.
