Digitally erased daily overview from the 2022 Wimbledon Championships
Novak Djokovic is looking to continue his march towards the Wimbledon final as the Serb is eyeing a seventh crown at SW19 and a fourth straight title when he meets Tim Van Rijthoven for a place in the last eight.
It follows the drama of Nick Kyrgios beating fourth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas in four thrilling sets, with the Australian predictably suffering a mid-game collapse in a heated contest, while Djokovic may have been more interested in the form of Rafael Nadal, who Bester returned to him in straight sets wins against Lorenzo Sonego.
Also in action today are British hopefuls Cameron Norrie and Heather Watson, while Ons Jabeur are now favorites to take the women’s title after Iga Swiatek’s shock elimination to Alize Cornet, who stunned the world No. 1 and ended her winning streak at 37.
There’s also a tasty match on Center Court in the future of men’s football featuring Italy’s Jannik Sinner, 20, and battling Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz, 19, and both men are keen to book their first-ever quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

Wimbledon 2022: Jannik Sinner 6-1 6-4 Carlos Alcaraz – Sinner wins second set!
And just like that, Carlos Alcaraz is two sets down and faces an early departure from Wimbledon. Super stuff from Jannik Sinner, who got the early break in the second and then served it impressively for love. Sinner’s second leg was excellent and he has an advantage over Alcaraz at net. The Spaniard loves a five-set comeback but faces a big fight from here.

Wimbledon 2022: Cameron Norrie 6-4 7-5 Tommy Paul – Norrie wins second set!
Norrie tries to serve it for the second time. He lands his first two serves and wild replies from Paul put him at 30-0.
And that’s brilliant of Norrie! He forces Paul back to the forehand side and the American nets with great depth!
Norrie is one set away from the quarterfinals.

Wimbledon 2022: *Cameron Norrie 6-4 6-5 Tommy Paul – Norrie breaks straight back!
But now Paul shows his nerves! The forehand is steered wide and then a double fault brings two break points for Norrie again. He saves the first with the ace and then watches as a forehand winner catches the line.
Norrie comes right back and sticks a disc in Paul’s feet. Paul skelps a forehand and Norrie breaks right back!

Wimbledon 2022: Cameron Norrie 6-4 4-2 Tommy Paul
Court One loves this performance by Norrie! Excellent movement from the Brit to win the point of the game as he caught a drop shot from Paul and won a dramatic exchange of blows by finding the baseline with the lob.
Paul fights his way back to the tackle, but Norrie fires the beautiful forehand winner down the line. But still can’t hold the ball and Paul goes in the net to thwart the volley.
Norrie has to save two break points with the backhand cross – the sixth he’s saved in the game so far. Paul goes wild with the forehand from the baseline and Norrie claims the hold after nine minutes!

Wimbledon 2022: Cameron Norrie 6-4 2-1 Tommy Paul – Norrie breaks!
So clean hitting from Norrie on the forehand side! Paul has no answers as he faces two break points on his serve. Paul scores twice and the ninth-seeded player makes an important step forward in his quest for the Quarters.

Wimbledon 2022: Jannik Sinner 6: 1 Carlos Alcaraz
Quite a lot on center court as Jannik Sinner races to the opening set against Carlos Alcaraz in the battle between the two young stars vying for the quarterfinals. Sinner is certainly capable of causing an upset, but I don’t think anyone expected the Italian to leap 6-1 in the opener.
Alcaraz flashes the magnificent winner down the line, but a long forehand ensues and Sinner wraps it up with a huge ace.

Wimbledon 2022: Cameron Norrie 6-4 Tommy Paul
Well done Cameron Norrie! He makes his way by winning the opponent’s set 6-4, surviving and taking some of the American’s test questions on his service game.

Wimbledon 2022: Cameron Norrie 4-3 Tommy Paul
Cameron Norrie has settled well into the first match of the fourth round of his Grand Slam career as he breaks Tommy Paul in the opening set.
The Briton has a real chance of reaching the semifinals and was really impressive when he beat Steve Johnson in the previous round.
