Zendaya famously dated her Euphoria costar Jacob Elordi in 2020, while Tom was linked to friend Olivia Bolton around the same time.
‘Zendaya and Tom started off as really great friends and stayed that way for a long while before things turned romantic,’ a source told UsWeekly at the time, adding that they ‘work really well together because he makes her laugh and she really helps guide him through the world of celebrity.’
They are believed to have first met in 2016 when Zendaya was cast opposite Tom in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Last September, Tom also posted a gushing tribute to his girl on her 25th birthday, writing: ‘My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays. Gimme a call when your [sic] up xxx.’
Zendaya replied to the post, writing: ‘Calling now,’ with a heart emoji.
Always working: A day before his birthday, Tom Holland was pictured filming ‘The Crowded Room’ TV series on Tuesday in New York City
New project: The Crowded Room is an upcoming drama series on Apple TV+ with season one taking inspiration from the novel The Minds of Billy Milligan by Daniel Keyes
Co-star: Tom was seen filming with actress Emma Laird on Tuesday in NYC
Despite their public displays of affection on social media, the young couple are careful about what they say about one another in interviews.
In a November interview with UK magazine Total Film, Tom said he was ‘very happy and in love’ but did not mention Zendaya by name.
‘I might go and be a carpenter for two years, and take a big break, and come back,’ he told the publication.
‘Or I might not come back. I might go away and get married and have kids, and just disappear for the rest of my life.’
Too cute: The couple poked fun at their height difference when they appeared on The Graham Norton show last year
Sweethearts: Meanwhile, Tom made things Instagram official as he wished Zendaya a happy birthday in September last year
Love: Hours later, Zendaya proved to be awake and ready to chat
They both appeared on The Graham Norton Show in December last year, where they joked about their height difference, with 5’10” Zendaya slightly towering above 5’8″ Tom.
Zendaya said on the show: ‘There’s a particular stunt where Spider-Man swings us on top of a bridge and he places me there (before) we eventually jump off of, so he’s supposed to gently rest MJ on the bridge and walk away. ‘
‘Because of our height difference, I would land before him (and) my feet obviously hit the ground before he does,’ she added.
Meanwhile Tom said: ‘So Zendaya would land, and I’m the superhero, I’m supposed to look cool. And I would land and my feet would swing from underneath me and then she would catch me.’
When it all began: After co-starring together in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the duo also acted in its sequel, Far From Home, and this December, will be seen in the next installment which is subtitled No Way Home; seen in 2016
